Hi Apo'ers
Question here is
In the Forecast Interactive Planning , in the Model selection tab
There are many models for selection. I see No Forecast , External forecast and History, rest of the models have a business sense to them. But coming to these three models, what wud be the business requirement in going with these mentioned models.
Please throw some light on this!!
Thanks for your support!!
NP
Hi NP,
The business requirements under these models are:-
1) No forecast:-
Forecast is not used as an plannable object if you are selecting this object.
ie It is typically a make to order scenario wherein the production or
procurement is purely based on incoming orders or demand.
2) External forecast:-
In this selection, the system does not have to do any planning for forecast,
as the forecast is driven by external transfer of forecast data. It could be
either SAP or non-SAP systems and can be transferred through Idocs or
any media. Those values are input and used as forecast.
3) History:-
Here, the past history is just used as reference to set forecast. It
could be a combination of time series data for a particular period.
