User and Role in sender SOAP call

Hi mates,

Must we use a service user id while making SOAP requests from SOAP clinet like oXygen or XMLSpy?

Can we not use any dialog users? If yes, what should be optimal role for this user?

I saw the note 856597, it says

<i>You must use one of the user names assigned in security role xi_adapter_soap_message for component XISOAPAdapter. Please consult the documentation for Visual Administrator to view and change the security setting.</i>

But I dont find 'xi_adapter_soap_message' in PFCG or UME on J2EE.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey praveen,

I faced the same issue earlier. Here is what you need to do...

Launch Visual administrator and navigate to Server->Services->Security Provider. In 'Policy Configurations' tab page, select the component 'sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter*XISOAPAdapter'. Then click on the tab page 'Security Roles' and select 'xi_adapter_soap_message'. You will find the groups (equivalent to roles in PFCG) to which this security role (xi_adapter_soap_message) is assigned to. Make sure you assign the PFCG role listed here to the user.

It should fix the issue.
