Bijo,

is there any particular requirement you're doing a Domain installation?

ExistingOnOS() existence check for user Bijo-PC\SAP_LocalAdmin returned false. INFO[E] 2009-07-20 09:47:48.335 [synxcuser.cpp:102] CSyUserImpl::CSyUserImpl(const CUserData&, bool) FSL-01027 Account user="Bijo-PC\SAP_LocalAdmin" does not exist. WARNING 2009-07-20 09:47:48.337 [synxcaccmg.cpp:974] GetDCNameHelper() Unable to get the name of a domain controller for domain

Make sure you are using a local administrator user on your machine to install SAP and then use the option "local installation" while sapinst prompts you to choose the installation method.

Debasis.

thanks Debasis,

I noticed the SAPServiceNSP account only has standard user rights, should I change it to an administrator account or leave it as is?

Hi Bijo,

No need to change the user admin type for the standard users that are created by sapinst. Thanks - Debasis.

Hi Debasis,

yes, I used sapinst to uninstall...not sure whether it worked. I then followed the "Troubleshooting Guide for NW2004s ABAP Trial Version'

-

- Drop database: In order to do that go to the Control Panel click on 'Add and Remove Programs' and look for 'MaxDB'. Click on 'Change/Remove' which starts the Installation Manager of the MaxDB. Click on 'Remove MaxDB Components', select 'All Components' and enter the database manager user 'control' and your <password>. Quitt the dialog popup with 'yes'.

- Stop SAPNSP_00 service Go to the Control Panel, click on 'Administrative Tools' and stop the SAPNSP_00 service.

- Remove in your file system the directories of 'SAP' and 'sapdb'. Go to 'Program Files/Common Files' and remove the directory 'Installshield'.

- Run the clean up tool for the registry, press the radio button for 'Uninstall Service', enter 'NSP' for SID and '00' for the number.

- Connect your PC to the network or install the loopback adapter.

- Reboot your PC.

then I used the clean up tool (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/softwaredownload?download=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/nw/regcleantools.rar)....also not sure whether it actually did anything.

below are the user accounts on my system, you will see 2 of them that were created by the sap install...I was using the Bijo account while installing.

I am going to try again tommorow, i will provide feedback.

thanks

Hi Bijo,

Yes, the two user ids that were created in the previous run, still exist. SAP<SID> and SAPService<SID>.

Unless otherwise its written somewhere in the installation manual/guide from Trial version, these user ids should not cause any problem as in the next sapinst run it will automatically check the the existence of these user id and will not create the users again.

hi guys,

my user profile is set as administrator, I am installing it on Vista Business...Vista has a lot of security controlls, everytime a program tries to access the computer vista will request your approval. Why do you say its the user permission issue?

It went to about step 18 or 19 in the install process, so will I have to clean the registry?

I also noticed that it created an extra account "nspadm" on Vista...what is that for?

The user I used for this install was "Bijo" (administrator), there is no user called "Bijo-PC\SAP_LocalAdmin"....Bijo-PC is the computer name.

thanks

Bijo

Hi Bijo,

Did you try with the Uninstall SAP option in sapinst?? you can try this out... (sapinst > Software Life-Cycle > Options > Uninstall - Uninstall System)

I also noticed that it created an extra account "nspadm" on Vista...what is that for?

you must have given NSP as the SID of the system during the parameter sections before running the start installation. sapinst creates SAP admin user for administration purpose <SID>ADM.

I suggest you read through the installation guide of Netweaver 7 which will explain all details.

Hi

Its always a good practice to start with fresh installation, cross check the permission of the user through which you are installing.

Hi Debasis,

I think I did choose a local install option, I'm wondering whether it has something to do with a cyclic redundancy fail message I got while extracting the orginal *.rar install files. Would I have to clean registry entries to do a reinstall?

Hi,

You can use sapinst to choose the uninstall option to uninstall SAP system if its already installed. if it doesn't show you anything (in your case you've not yet done the installation), you don't need to uninstall.

Make sure the user id you're using is a part of "Administrator" group. right click on "my computer" > manage > local users and groups > check if your user id is part of the admin group.

So go ahead to install the fresh one.

Debasis.
