SMD Agent Port

We have SMD agents running in our ECC and Portal systems that communicate with Solman on port 50004. What port do these agents run on in the ECC and Portal system? Is there a standard port for these agents or do they pick up any arbitrary port?

Ports would be 5xx00

where xx is equal to system number

so it looks like you used system 00

That doesn't seem correct. The SMD agent is running but I am not able to telnet (locally) on this port. Furthermore, the system is assigned the number 98 and so I have tried telnetting to 59800 but to no avail.

Hi Fahad,

jsut have a look at the logs of the SMD agent in /usr/sap/SMD/J98 ..(out of the head: log or work directly afterwards..).

There you can see the used port.
