SSL Error in TREX PreProcessor

We have been sucessfully running TREX with EP 6.0 on WAS 6.40 Java for some time now. Suddenly, on April 19th, we started receiving an SSL error when trying to index documents using TREX. The following is from the TrexPreProcessor.trc file:

Notice the HTTPHEAD error, and everything that follows. The TREX preprocessor cannot even connect to the Portal. This functionality used to work perfectly until April 19th. What could be causing this error?
