Access BW system from Visual Composer.SSO required?

Former Member

Team,

We want to access Bw system from Visual composer.

Error we got is:

Warning 2005 :There are no BI systems defined in portal .In order to use the BI integration wizard, you must define at least one BI system based on the BI XMLA,BI ODBA,BI JDBC or BI SAP Query Connector.

Now We can define BI system in portal content of above type but do we have to define SSO between BI and Portal?

Please let me know

Best Regards,

Tushar

Hi Tushar,

I recommend to setup SSO between Portal and BW, because you need it anyway for all the other BW functionality.

The SSO setup is part of the BI Java configuration and should be done by your Basis guys.

For connection issues I recommend that you check [the Wiki pages|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/Connectivity].

Hi Marcel,

We have same user ids in portal and BI system so we configured SSO with login tickets without user mapping.

Now when I did connection test

Test Connection with Connector

Test Details:

The test consists of the following steps:

1. Retrieve the default alias of the system

2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object

Results

Retrieval of default alias successful

Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly

In BWD,

Strust-->Env-Logon ticket

With RFC destination NONE shows below result:

Issuing System for the Logon Ticket ( all Green )

SAP System BWD Client 300

Certificate of the Issuing System for the Logon Ticket

Owner CN=BWD

Issuer CN=BWD

Serial Number 00

Validity 19971001 000000 20380101 000000

Check Sum CB:62:5D:52:45:3F:D5:D4:ED:24:22:EB:D3:75:02:5C

Profile Parameters login/create_sso2_ticket = 2

System BWD Is Creating Logon Tickets That Do not Include Its Certificate

The Current System BWD Is Also the Issuing System for the Logon Ticket

An Entry in Certificate List of BWD Is not Necessary

The Certificate for System BWD Is not Included In the Certificate List for System BWD

System BWD Accepts Verified Logon Tickets for System BWD

Certificate List ( all Green )

The Certificate List Is Used To Verify the Digital Signature for the Logon Ticket

Issuer CN=CNB

Serial Number 00

Owner OU=J2EE, CN=DEV

Issuer OU=J2EE, CN=DEV

Serial Number 00

Here DEV is EP 7.0.Can you please let me know where its going wrong.

Hi,

Here is the SSO checkList :

1> you are using fully qualified domain names in the system landscape definition and when accessing the portal;

-

> Yes.

2> your certificate hasn't expired;

-

>Valid till 2027

3> your backend RZ10 settings are correct (login/accept_sso2_ticket);

-

>Yes

4> you have uploaded the certificate to the backend system (STRUSTSSO2);

--->Yes

5> there is an entry in the ACL table (TWPSSO2ACL) in the back end client you are connecting can be reached by SM30;

---> Yes

6 > you have the same username in the portal and back end OR you have set up user mapping.

--->We have the same user name in BI and Portal system.

Now Still connection is failing. Error :check SSO .

By the way , I have defined default system alias but when I go for user mapping for system acces, I can not see system alias defined. Is it because we have same user ids in portal and development?

Just to add we have LDAP as a datasource

Please let me know if you have any Idea where SSO is going wrong?

Best Regards,

Tushar

Hi ,

Let's working now.

Cause :

User mapping was required.

But as we have same user ids in portal and BI system, when doing user mapping for system access system alias does show in dropdown box.

But When user Administrator ( exists in portal but not in BI system ), system alias does come up in dropdown and then We mapped it with my user id in BI system.

Now connection test works properly.

I don't know if it is right way to do it. Team is testing it now and hope it will work for them as well.

Best Regards,

Tushar.
