Hi,
i have installed Sneak Preview CE EHP 1 from SDN.
the setup installed perfectly and the WAS up also initially.
but after a system reboot the WAS is not coming up.

traces point to the fact that the MAXDB could not start.
D:\usr\sap\CE1\J00\work>dbmcli -U "c_J2EE" db_online
ERR
-24988,ERR_SQL: SQL error
-902,I/O error
3,Database state: OFFLINE
Internal errorcode, Error code 9050 "disk_not_accessible"
20017,RestartFilesystem failed with 'I/O error'
Error: Database CE1 NOT started !

attempt to start the MAXD service listed in services.msc also fails
can you suggest something.
my expertise is Web Dynpro Java and i have no experience in MAXDB.

Hmm... obviously one of the database volume files (which one can be reviewed in the knldiag file) is not where it is supposed to be.
And if the database had been up before, the file has been moved or deleted.
Check the knldiag file to figure out which file is missing.

Please check the SDN WIKI or the documentation...

You may also just use the DBM GUI or the DB Studio to display the file.
