Create Device Caregory without material in MM

Hello Everyone,

How can we create device category in EG01 directly; without having to create the material in MM i.e. MM01. Inputs would be appreciated.

Hi,

The Device Category in ISU and Material Master in the MM is the integration part.Without creating the Material master in MM ,we can not create the device category.

But the Device category can be created by two methods in the ISU:

Method 1:

1.First create the material master in the MM and then through EG01,create the device category with the ISU datas.

Method 2:

1.Create the ISU reference material in the MM.

2.Assign the reference material in the configuration of the Device Category with the plant and storage location.

Path -

Spro->saputilities->device management----->technology--->Device category----->Define help table for the specification of the reference material

3.After assigning the refernce material,create the device category through EG01.

4.If no material exists for the device category specified, the Create MM Material dialog box appears.

5.Here you can create a material in MM in the background. Processing is then continued on the next screen for device category maintenance.

6.Then Enter further data for the device category and Save it.

Note:However, this material master does not allow you to use all of the functions of MM.

If you want to use all of the MM functions available, you must extend the material master you created in IS-U later in MM.
