Our vendor requires a bar code resolution of 1 mm. From what I gathered, the resolution of the bar code is the width of the narrowest bar (in millimeters).
Is this a correct interpretation?
Can we measure the resolution of the bar code we have printed?
Is the resolution determined by the printer? Our printer is has 203 dpi (8 dots/mm).
Can the resolution of the bar code be changed (to 1mm) in the ZPL (sapscript) that generated the bar code?
Thanks,
Sahil
We found that resolution refers to the width of the narrowest bar in a bar code. It is also called the "module width." The resolution is determined by both the printer and the number of dots specified in the ZPL code (^BY function). The resolution(measured in mm) is ultimately equal to the ( 1 / resolution of the printer (in dpi) ) * 25.4 "inches --> mm conversion" * zpl width (in dots)
