Are equal JAVA-NodeIDs on different systems supported? (JAVA WAS 7.0)?

Dear all,

we are doing about 10-15 homogene Systemcopies a month.

Now we are developing an automated Systemcopy procedure.

During the copy, we are not able to change the NoteID of the Java-Instance.

Does anybody know, what problem could occur regarding the equal NoteIDs on different SIDs?

(e.g., configtool -> clusterdata -> instance (instance-ID76122(twdf1444) )

Best regards

Thomas

Java Node IDs are created as unique with Instance Number and then depending upon the number of node .

Basically we refer them as Node 0 ,1 ,2 etc.

Now ,if already a node is created ,i don't think you can change its number.

And i havn't heard of anything where you can give some specific number to a node.

Hi,

Perhaps, there wouldn't be any problem with nodeid's as it is a homogeneous system copy. while trans copy may lead the cluster instance to work inconsistently while switching the instance.

Hi Ajay,

my question is: Which problems can occur, if 2 systems have the same Node ID.

You have the same problem in the SAP education environment. These systems are also coppied with an differend method as the sapinst-tool.

Best regards

Thomas
