Hi,
Can I use the user ora<SID> to install oracle CRS software and Oracle database software ?
If I use different users as "oracle" to install CRS software and ora<SID> to install database software then there will be a conflict in ownership of /oracle/OraInventory.
I understand that only one user can own OraInventory. Please correct me if am wrong here.
What kind of impact/issues or risk(if any) will be - if i install CRS and database with use of single user as "ora<SID>".
Regards
Syed.

Why not put both users in the same group?

Yes markus we can do as u said. i can assign both users to group "dba".
I have gone thru the documentation and SAP has recommended different users for installation.
"oracle (or) oracrs" user for CRS software and "ora<SID>" user for database software.
can any one let me know why SAP has recommended to use different users to install CRS n database. I mean what is the logic behind it?

Syed
