Using SUBMIT report in WDA

Has anyone tried the delivered demo SALV_WD_DEMO_TABLE_MIG? It works fine with the default demo report SALV_DEMO_TABLE_LAYOUT. But if I try to use any other report std/custom, I get hit with a CX_SHM_EXTERNAL_TYPE error. This error invariably occurs at the lr_area_handle->detach_commit( ) statement, for every other report I use, in the call to the WRITE Method of the class cl_salv_wd_adapt_shm_util.

Any ideas?

Hi Suresh,

I tried it in our IDES (ECC 6.0 / NW 7.00) system and all works fine with standard and custom reports!

So I'm sorry, I could not give you any hint about your problem.

Not sure why it doesn't work on my system. I had to go in for the export to memory route and get the ALV display.But this isn't really necessary if the write to shared memory works.
