Was SMIGR_CREATE_DDL part of the migration toolkit for earlier releases?

Hello to the group.

We are planning the migration of a 4.7 ext 2 system from Solaris to AIX. During the preparations for the R3load based export, we noticed that the program SMIGR_CREATE_DDL is not installed on the source system (i.e. 'not found' when we attempt to run it in SE38). Does anyone know if this program was included with the migration toolkit or included within a later Basis Support Pack (the KB level is 38)?

Is this it necessary to run this program when migrating off of a 4.7 system?

Thank you in advance for any help and suggestions.

A 4.7 system is based on WAS 6.20. That version has no SAP_BW component installed and hence it's not necessary to run this part of the migration prepration.

It's only necessary to run SMIGR_CREATE_DDL for systems that contain SAP_BW (and/or BW_CONT).

Thanks Markus!

That takes away one thing for us to worry about. I just wonder why later versions of SAPINST make this mandatory.

Thanks again,

Because all later versions contain the component SAP_BW - even if not used. It became part of Netweaver.
