Sanjay,

does your client have plans to update his R/3? In SAP R/3 6.0 (ECC) is standard the communication between R/3 and CCM. I've set the MM purchase requisition to push data from CCM catalogs.

I don't know 4.6c version, but please check IMG configs.

Hi Sanjay,

this will be standard with mySAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0), using OCI.

Before this, SRM is the only tool to communicate with catalogs.

Hi Christophe,

We still want to go ahead in SAP 4.6c. Can you suggest some development solution to achieve this.

Process requirement is End user to create Pur Requisition in R/3 with reference to External Supplier catalog and Price and other vendor details are going to PR from Supplier catalog.

Pls. help.

Hi Sanjay,

In the past, a consulting proposal was available to downgrade catalog access from PM work order transaction, from R/3 4.7 R/3 4.6C.

Unfortunllty (and fortunatly for us, SRM guys), there is nothing similar for MM...

HiChristophe,

Thanks for reply.

Still customer want to go ahaed with External catalog with MM. As per Customer some client has done the same with extensive development.

I would do like to know if we have decided to this for any amount of development than what it takes.

I mean what could be land scape is Trex required for search in PR for external catalog. Is RFC connection required between External Supplier catalog to MM?

Is some I DOC management is requitred to flow price and Vendor data to Purchase requisition.

Dear Christophe Pls. help in guiding. There should be some way to do this.

Thanks

Sanjay,

Ask your customer about what has been done at other clients, and do the same.

The catalog logic is based on a communication protocol: Open Catalog Interface (OCI), than can send back sent catalog items by HTML or XML.

Search on the forum for OCI documentation links.

IDOC is used for asynchronous message exchange, and does not suits this kind of communication.

TREX is used to index some content and search it. It is used by SAP CCM to index and search inside your catalogs.

This is a search "engine" used also in SAP EP.

Other solution: look how if done the catalog link on PM and realize the same for MM.

I cannot do more.

Hi Juergen,

I am also looking for this kind of solution in 4.6c. There is OCI interface config in 4.7 (PM) but not in 4.6c. Can you please send me the details of your development to me (viji_palani@yahoo.com)?

Thanks

Hi Sanjay,

I am not aware how you can link Supplier hosted External Catalog to R/3 MM.

But this is certainly possible if you have EBP & CCM components along with R/3 MM.
