Hi,
I am trying to migrate both telephone number and mobile number to make sure that both the fields in BP is migrated and populated and i am have made the CHIND_TEL AS A FLAG AND fixed rule. but i am unable to find anything as CHIND_MOB.
so can anyone help me rectify this.
Thanks in advance,
Robert.
Hi Robert,
To assign both Telephone Number and Mobile Number to the BP, you will have to populate BUT020 structure twice with the values. For telephone number give TEL_MOBILE = 1 in the first structure and for mobile number give TEL_MOBILE = 3 in the second structure.
Please update the change indicators in your file. CHIND_TEL should be set as I in both structure, while CHIND_ADDR should be 'I' in the first structure and 'U' in the second structure, or left blank.
Regards,
Sachin.

Hi Sachin,
Thank you for you quick response but i do not know my client system is not allowing me to add the mobile number, i can only add either telephone number as land line or either mobile number.
I am adding the necessary fields in the emigall.
like
CHIND_ADDR= 'I'
CHIND_ADDR='U' OR BLANK.
AND CHIND_TEL='I'
ALL ARE FIXED RULES IN THE STRUCTURE.
BUT YOU MENTIONED THAT BOTH THE STRUCTURES IN CHIND_TEL BUT I COULD FIND ONLY ONE STRUCTURE FIELD WITH CHIND_TEL AND TWO CHIND_ADDR.
SO CAN YOU TELL AS ITS AGAIN POSTING EITHER OF ONE OF THE NUMBER THAT IS LANDLINE OR MOBILE ACCORDING TO TEL_MOBILE=3 OR 1. THROUGH THE SAME STRUCTURE BUT020
I HAVE ADDED TWO BUT020 STRUCTURE IN THE IMPORT FILE WITH THE ABOVE DIFFERENT INDICATOR AND I STILL GET ONLY ONE FIELD THAT IS GETTING POPULATED.
SO I FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS
Please update the change indicators in your file. CHIND_TEL should be set as I in both structure, while CHIND_ADDR should be 'I' in the first structure and 'U' in the second structure, or left blank..
CAN YOU HELP ME A LITTLE MORE.
AND THANKS FRED!!
Robert,
1st BUT020 structure:
BUT020-CHIND_ADDR = 'I'
BUT020-CITY, STREET, ... filled
BUT020-CHIND_TEL = 'I'
BUT020-TEL_NUMBER = <tel number fixed line>
BUT020-TEL_MOBILE = space => fixed line
2nd BUT020 structure:
BUT020-CHIND_ADDR = space
BUT020-CITY, STREET, ... space
BUT020-CHIND_TEL = 'I'
BUT020-TEL_NUMBER = <tel number mobile>
BUT020-TEL_MOBILE = '3' => mobile number
Result: 1 address with 02 phone numbers (1 for fixed line and 1 for mobile)
Cheers, Fritz

&
I HAVE TWO ADRR FIELDS IN THE BUT020 FIELD i.e. "CHIND_ADDR" AS FIXED RULE AS I.
& ONE MORE "CHIND_ADDR" AS FIXED RULE WITH SPACE IN IT.
I HAVE THE VALUE OF "CHIND_TEL" AS FIXED RULE AND I HAVE THE FIXED CONTENT AS I.
and above is the information in the import file and i am still unable to see the mobile number as
it is either taking either telephone number i.e landline or mobile phone .
I wanted to know what else i can do as i tried every suggestion suggested to me and i have tried
some of my own but all in vain.
Please suggest what should i do, is that a problem with the configuration.
Hi Robert,
As I can see from your file, you have not specified the value for the field TEL_MOBILE in the first BUT020 structure. If this is a Telephone Number, you have to provide a value '1' in this field. Just like in your second structure, you have given the value of TEL_MOBILE as '3'.

TEL_MOBILE 3 C 1 Indicator: Telephone is a Mobile Telephone 3
ADDR_DATE_FROM 3 C 8 Validity Start (DI)
ADDR_DATE_TO 3 C 8 Validity End (DI)
Please try by giving the value of TEL_MOBILE as 1 in the first structure.
Please note that CHIND_TEL should be I in both structures.
CHIND_ADDR should be I in first structure and SPACE in second structure.
TEL_MOBILE should be '1' in first structure, and '3' in second structure.
Also, you cannot have CHIND_ADDR as a fixed value, since this value is different for the two structures. It should be TRANSFER from the file.
Regards,
Sachin.
Hi Sachin,
Just a quick comment: The value in the TEL_MOBILE field can be either space or 1 if the phone number in the TEL_NUMBER field is a number of a fixed line (tested again in a EhP4 system). I do not know many projects who transferred mobile numbers instead of fixed line numbers. This would mean that all these projects must have used the TEL_MOBILE field - what they haven't.
Once more I agree to your comment, that in the given scenario (more than 1 phone number) the CHIND_ADDR field cannot have the Fixed Value field rule allocated but the Transfer field rule.
Kind regards,
Fritz
Hi Fritz and Sachin,
well i have followed your given instructions and i got one more error when i am adding CHIND_TEL as 'I' in both BUT020 and CHIND_ADDR I in one of the structure and SPACE in another well there is one more field coming up as address indicator
and after migrating i am getting an error which reads as following;
"Please use another function to maintain the SPACE version of the address".
please suggest what is wrong with this procedure and what correction can i do.
Regards,
Robert
Hi Robert,
You're right - there's no field like CHIND_MOB. This is because the tel and mobile are stored in the same table ADR2 and are both saved under communication type TEL.To differentiate between tel and mobile, you need to use the flag R3 user.
R3 user = 1 --> telephone
R3 user = 2 --> mobile.
You can get the entire list of allowed values for this flag from looking up teh domain properties of this flag in table ADR2.
One you use the correct value of R3 user, the field CHIND_TEL is sufficient to add/change the mobile number.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Rishu.

Robert,
I answered in a very similar question: you need to use the BUT020-TEL_MOBILE field to mark an address dependant phone number as mobile number. If you want to create both (a number of a landline phone and a number of a mobile phone) for an address you need to transfer the BUT020 structure a 2nd time (the 1st BUT020 structure with the landline number and a 2nd BUT020 structure with the mobile number).
Kind regards,
Fritz
