capacity requirements in PS

Dear Experts,

I am looking for Capacity requirement planning in PS using Work center. I am facing a problem in this process.

I have carried out the following steps:

1. Created a work center with category 0006 and maintained the capacity data with category 002. I have maintained the costing data also along with activity type and formula (SAP008)

2. I have created a project and mentioned the work center against 1 activity in the network, the calculation key is 2(calculate work). The project is scheduled and released.

3. When look into the report CM50 / CM53, its giving me a message as below:

No capacity requirements were found in the evaluation period

When I opened the message the details are as follow:

No capacity requirements were found in the evaluation period

Message no. CY140

Diagnosis

No capacity requirements records were found for the selected orders in the evaluation period.

Procedure

You should check the evaluation period in the time profile in Customizing. Try refreshing the chart by clicking on the right mouse button and selecting 'Refresh'.

And when I proceed further into the report by selecting OK for that message I found the report as:

Rem.cap.reqs as 0(Zero) and Avail.capacity (full), where as, as per me the Rem.cap.reqs should show the data with the work center occupancy and the available capacity should be the full capacity of the work center capacity data - the mentioned capacity of the project for that duration.

But it is not showing anything in the report. I am not able to understand why this is showing like this.

I have checked the Overall Profile ID in the network profile it is SAPPS_G020 (PS: Evaluation, standard overview).

Can any one help in sorting this issue?

Hi

Have you mainatined the standard availabilty capacity in capacity header screen

Double clcik on the capacity catergory in capacity tab

Enter the standard availabilty capacity

Ex:

Start 07:00:00

Finish 18:00:00

Length of breaks 00:00:00

Operating time 11.00

Planning details

Check Relevant for finite schduling

Can be used by serveral operations.

Yes I have maitained all those details in the capacity area of the work center.

Start time , finish time, no. of individuals, capacity utilization, Check Relevant for finite schduling and Can be used by serveral operations also ticked.

Yes I have activated the capacity requirement in the network header. Infact it is defualted in the network profile in tcode OPUU.

Hi,

Looking into the settings you had done, you must get it.

Pl. check in CM01 for the load (by selecting Standard overview). If you find '0' for the weeks displayed then in the Project you might not have planned.

In the project NWA, pl. check whether you had mentioned the workcenter alongwith No.of persons and the percentage. If you maintain thest things then you must get the same in the requirements.

I have checked the load in CM01 it is still showing no requirements. i.e., the requirements column as 0.

I have cheked the network activities also, I have mentioned the work cneter, Number of person - 2 percentage 100, and clalculation key 2 (calculate work) I have mentioned the time duraion in capacity area of the work center master as 7 hrs, so the work calculated is 14 hrs.

So there is no problem in the requirement planning.

But this is not reflectiong in the reports.

Thanks for your reply.

I have checked the said note number 79179, the settings in transaction BS42 are available as mentioned in the note.

I have also checked one more note 33099, the function CY_BT_KBED_CREATE is available as per the modification in the note 33099.

But still the error exists.

Hi Praveen,

Please cross check the following for Capacity Planning.

Defining Shift Sequences - OP4A

Defining Strategy Profile - OPDB

Defining Overall Profiles - OPDO

Even check Control Capacity Availability - OPSP and Profile parameter in CMPC .

Check which Planning period date type, Start and finish , Calender id and Fiscal Year variant.

1. I don't have shifts, we have only single shift i.e., general shift from 09:00 - 17:00 with a break of 1 hr, so I have mentioned that timing in the capacity header data of work center.

2. I am using overall Profile SAPPS_G020 (PS: Evaluation, standard overview) which is of std. SAP, and the strategy profile used in the overall profile is SAPSFCT005 (Fin.sched.for./disp.acc. to setup group)

I have changed the time profile also, the details I mentioned in my previous thread, please refer to it.

But still not able to get any clue out of it.

2. maintain the pricing in KP26.

3. assign the work center in network activity.

4. check the plan/actual cost value

5. check the capacity requirement reports. CM53/CM55.

1. The work center details are maitained in the capacity header data.

2. Maintained the proce for the activity type in KP26

3.Work center is assigned in the network activity

4. The cost for that work center acording to the activity tyep price is showing correctly in the plan values.

5. When I run the report CM53 / CM55 / CM01/ CM50 its giving me a message

No capacity requirements were found in the evaluation period

And its showing 0 requirements in the report.

Hi Experts,

Thanks to every one.

I have solved this issue.

The problem was in the workcneter master Capacity tab there is a filed Other Formula in that field we have to mention SAP004 and ensure that the formula is a tick on Work center capacity requirement in transaction OP21.

And also in the Schduling tab of the workcenter master the other formula field needs to be maintained with the same forumla SAP004

I have checked the Time profile also.

The capacity requirement falls under the below dates:

Earliest Start Date: 20.07.2009

Earliest Finish Date: 07.08.2009

Lastest Start Date: 22.09.2009

Lastest Finish Date: 13.10.2009

And the time profile period is as follows:

Data Read Period:

Entry Type: J (Number of calendar months)

Start Date: -12 (01.07.2008)

Finish Date: 6 (31.01.2010)

Evaluation Period:

Entry Type: J (Number of calendar months)

Start Date: -12 (01.07.2008)

Finish Date: 6 (31.01.2010)

Planning Period:

Entry type J (Number of calendar months)

Start date -2 (01.05.2009)

Finish date 6 (31.01.2010)

Dispatching of backlog:

Entry Type G Number of calendar days

BacklogDispDate 0 15.07.2009

In any case the requirement period is within the time profile period.

But still I dont understand why this is giving that message and not showing any requirement data.
