Changing Item Category group on Sales Org 2 :Material master

Gurus,

User has set up a material with the wrong item category group and has posted transactions against it.. Now wants to change the group...what would be the impact of changing?

If you change it will no negative impact only you have to think about all posted document because all posting is wrong because wrong item category get determine so how u will change u have to think that only for all posted document.

Hi,

Maintain the same item category till the open deliveries & invoices has been completed or else reverse the deliveries which are open then do the fresh delivery.

Hi,

After changing the item category group your sales order will determine new item category.

Because item category determination depend on

Sales order + item category grp + usage + item category at higher level.

There will be no effect on the sales order which are created before.

If you have created sales order before changing the item category group.

And you are creating delivery and billing document after change then it might create some problem
