Hi All,
Need your input on below scenario:
I am using Solution Manager 7.0 SP18 for support desk & ChaRM process. I have linked production system of ECC 5.0 (System ID:PRD) with solution manager.
We are using three tier landscape for ECC 5.0 as below:
ECC DEV--
My ECC 5.0 implementation has been planned two phases.
Phase 1: In "Phase 1" MM, SD & FICO has gone live go-live (Which has gone live already during November'2008)
Phase 2: In "Phase 2" PP, PM & QM will go-live on December'2009.
We have started our solution manager implementation on June'2009.
The requirement from client:
During both the phases the team will use same system landscape of ECC. Since the MM , SD & FICO team has already gone live, only those team / users has to follow the ChaRM process of sol Man. The other users related to "Phase 2" modules need not to follow the ChaRM process of solution Manager since those modules are not gone live. The "Phase 2" users will the regular transport manual transport mechanism.
How to control this requirement technically?
Your input will be very much appreciated.

This is a typical scenario. You can setup two projects in solman
1. Maintenance project. This covers all phase I, ChaRM is enabled
2. Implementation project. It is used for phase II. No need to use ChaRM. As long as you assign CTS project to each transport you will be fine. You can also use ChaRM for implementation project but most customers choose not to do so.
Hope it helps
