Hi Friends,

I have doubt which may seesm to be silly, but I am not clear with this concept ,, so could anyone of you walk me through this?Pleaseee

In SAP we have many technologies for talking with NON SAP Systems.

Lets say BDC, BAPI and BADI's ans also now we have ALE IDOC 's and EDI.

My doubt is , when do we go for ALE Technology , despite we having BAPI and BADI's for talking with the other legacy Systems.?

IF I was silly in my Questions, please bare with me , and help mein understanding the concepts.

Thanks in Advance

Regards

Tina

Well, I have seen like when you have two systems and you’re entraining data in one system and you want to in sink with other system , you’ll create distribution model , set up port and partner to send the data using message types. So when user change some data it creates the data and then using ALE you can update the other system. You can see all ALE transaction by going it tr.SALE.

You can also refer links :

Hope this’ll give you some clue.. Don’t forget to award the points

Thanks

hi tina,

you can use ALE technology when you want to automate the data transfer between/across multiple systems or whenever a particular data is changed and you want to notify the other systems. This is an efficient way of maintaining the data integrity. With other technologies, you have develop coding and run them frequently.

But using ALE technologies, the system will take care of the data transfer.

Hope, this will clear your doubt. Let me know if you have any doubts
