Intigration of DMS with SAP-HCM

Dear Gurus,

We are planning to link infotype 0290(Documents/Certificates RU) with DMS based on different subtypes of IT0290.

I need to knowwhether there is any standard/best practice given by SAP for use of DMS for SAP-HCM objects.

Damspai,

offcourse, SAP have providing so many options.

1. DMS integration with HCM.

2. Poular one is Arichive linking. this is standard practice.

for case -1, DMS integration, u need some development.

for case-2, no need any development. only configure, your HCM documents, and linke to Employee numbers, using

appropraite storage senarios.

Thanks for the inputs. Please let me know whether Archive link is a part of DMS. If yes, how can we configure archive link with HR objects.

hi,

Archive link is also a method of document management. from this u have to link your original document like, pdf, doc, ppt etc could be stored in DMS content server.

hence this is indentified in DMS area.

Acually, HCM document does not require any version, or revision documents, i guess.

if u want Version or revision documents, then u have to go for SAP DMS. SAP DMS is acually PLM Tool.

ArchiveLink is configured in oac2, oac3, oad5, oaa3, oag4 and oac0.

Storage is in OAWD and retrieval is from the infotype or from OAOR.
