typical reports developed in SAP APO

I would like to know what are the typical reports that are developed in APO using the BI module.

and also typical activities of BI guys during implementation of APO.

Hi AAL123,

Ideally speaking, the function of BI role is not only to develop

reports.

BW is a tool which itself is a reporting tool in which all

data will be pulled and available at anytime in infocubes.

The BW/BI team pulls the data from various sources, construct

suitable infocubes/strucutres etc., and all the data available

in infocube so that any user can simply extract the data

and view/download iit in BW.

The methodology behind BW is to reduce report preparations

and to make all data availble for user.

Hi,

There are many available reports in APO for different scenario like, for 'optimization' run we can get total 'unfulfilled demand' from the application log of the optimizer run.

We can get reports on 'resource utilization' rate of plants for different time bucket.

Basically BI guys play role in APO implementation after the configuration of different module. So, you can say BI consultant's role starts at the testing phase. However if DP is there in the implementation scope, then you may need BI guys. Specially when you are creating CVCs (DP master data) from BW.

At the time of blue printing customer suggest what kind of reports they want, to analyse the planning results. Those numbers requirements of different reports may exceed later, when actually the customer gets a good idea of the APO process. So, to meet the customer's demand of several kind of reports, BI consultants are required in a APO implementation project.

are the data sources defined separately or they standard ones . Can we see these in RSA5 on R/3 side.
