Hi,
We are currently facing an issue whereby we have an RFC --> PI --> RFC scenario.
In this scenario thousands of RFC calls are being made to the Target ECC system. One of these thousands of RFC calls is a very large message. Over 4MB.
During the testing phase things were OK. This message was getting processed even though it took sometimes up to 2 mins to process. However as of last week something on the target ECC system changed (We are investigating this part as well).
The impact of this change was that the processing time went from 2 mins to nearly 4 or 5 mins. The problem is that the RFC Receiver Adapter is closing the call after 2 mins and 30 seconds. So in the target ECC system it processes this Sync call but when it comes to send the response after 4-5 mins the RFC adapter has already closed the call.
I wanted to know if there was a setting somewhere where we could extend the RFC adapters settings to keep a call open?
So far we have changed the following parameters without success.
SAP XI AF Core --> clusterCommunicationTimeoutMsec
SAP XI AF Messaging --> messaging.cluster.timeout
SAP XI Adapter: RFC --> syncMessageDeliveryTimeoutMsec
Please let me know if there are any others that can be changed?
Thank you for your help!
Hi,
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?
Thank you!

You seem to have done the required settings....did you set the timeout to a period greater than 5 mins?...if you need some help in cross-checking your settings then check pg-62 of this document:

Abhishek.
