Risk in moving S/w Components from PRod to QA and Dev

Hello,

1) i was planning to move S/W component from Prod XI server to QA and Dev. What are the risks involved. I am gng to do that only for repository not for integration directory.

2) Can i move value mapping tables from production to dev and QA using tpz files. ? There is an option while creating Val map table. Will it work if the Val mapping group names are different in Dev and Prod ? (Group name whihc got automatically generated by XI)

Kulwinder,

You should not have any issues. But why are you moving backwards. When you have in production the same object should be there in Dev and QA also right? For importing the IR objects you should not have any issues.

Actually its to Synchronize the IR part. My client's system is all messed up as earler consultants used to edit the QA directly and client was not aware of that.

Hi Kulwinder,

No issues. In one of my project I have done the same thing.

By using CMS or CTS we can transport the IR or ESR objects from one system to other system, but for ID objects better to do the configuration manually.
