how to install NWDI

Hello,

I am new in NWDI world. I have installed SAP NW CE 7.1 with Ehp 1 and also Developer Studio. I want to install and configure NWDI. I have gone through several help sites and understood the storyboard but how installation steps are still hidden from me. When I write http://localhost:50000/cbs not working. I know NWDI is not installed that's why it does not show CBS.

Can any one tell me how to install NWDI on my SAP NW CE 7.1 Server (Java Stack on Windows XP).

If you recommend me step by step guide, would be great.

Naeem,

To check if your NWDI is installed use [http://localhost:50000/devinf] in stead of [/cbs].

To install NWDI use the option Java AS + DI when you are installing your Java Stack.

Hi Alain,

I have tried http://localhost:50000/devinf but it is not installed, It shows me the request page does not exist. I know the installation guides with CE given the additional component installation but I do not know where from exactly to download the setup files of NWDI from SMP!!! I have been to the path of NWDI but there is a list of downloadable components which confuses me what to downlaod?? whether would it be executeable setup??

Can you please recommend some thing concerete material to download and install the NWDI?

hi Alain,

thanks for the email. I know now how to embed the CMS, DTR, CBS sca files after looking couple of forums. Actually, I used JSPM which deployes the software components to the server, as I mentioned I have downloaded CMS, DTR and CBS sca files. But you know what, I put the sca files into drive:\usr\sap\<systemname>\sys\eps\in folder then run the JSPM which has deployed the DRE and CBS components on the server but CMS has failed because of some dependencies. It shows me an error and does not go further. Do you know what problem can be???

it shows the error for example,

sap.com/tc_{com.sap.tmw.clients}_ctsa_client not found

can you help??

hi Alain,

I have seen your recommended link for the detail installation step of NWDI. But I do not find the detail installation steps in Developer Edition of installation manual. There are couple place where the manual says to follow the configuration wizards in case if you have installed NWDI on some other SAP NW server 7.0.

But I do not have any other server. I have installed SAP NW CE 7.1 with Ehp 1 trial version and I give it the real license key which is valid now longer. I want to install NWDI server on the same machine where SAP NW CE server is runing.

Do you know how to deploy NWDI component on the machine?? where to download, which components are required from SMP??

I am also trying to install the nwdi for ce 711, can you please explain what version of dtr,cms,cbs SCA files you deployed and wht other dependent sca files are required for NWDI installation on CE7.11. Please explain the steps you did to acheive the successfull NWDI installation.can you send any documentation which helped in this installation.I appreciate your help

Hello pkv,

actually, first I have installed a trial versin of SAP NWCE there you have limitted components which cause problem some times when you manually try to embed other components downloaded from SMP like NWDI. I had allots of problem in manually deploying NWDI components then what I did i just deinstall the trial version and I have downloaded a developer version full version from SMP with ESR, NWDI, and other additional components. Now I have no problem in NWDI.

Hello Madan,

referring to my last answer to PKV that please do not try to configure NWDI with trial version available on SAP portal which has limited components packed. In this case you have to do allots of manual work which is not easy and cause you problems where you do not have any clue if you are not damn expert of programming.

So, my recommendation about NWDI is download proper version from SMP e.g. https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/support --> downloads --> installations and upgrades --> entery by application group --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP NETWEAVER" SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NW CE 7.1 for developer edition.

There you will find several additional components in setup including NWDI. Follow the installation files of repective version.

if you have installed successfully SAP NWCE setup with NWDI. Then follow the post installation steps. you can see the post installation steps here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/44/d958673ef05f4de10000000a11466f/frameset.htm

follow them and exectue the wizards of post installation activities. Once you are done with that then check whether NWDI is running by going to internet explorer and typing http://mgsp49i:50000/devinf (most of the time port is 50000, if you have not changed or given something different) then provide J2EE administrator user id and password.
