Business Process Monitoring

Hi ,

We have configured Business process Monitoring in Solution Manager and

we have the below issues.

Please clarify the below points.

1.Our Solution Manager system is in CEST time zone, but our production

systems which we monitor is in CET time zone. When the alerts are

triggered there is an confusion for us to check the exact time of alert

in CET time zone. Is there any way to generate reports in CET time zone

as these reports are needed for SOX reviews.

2.Solution is getting deactivated automatically without any manual

intervention.

3.Monitoring data is kept only for 3 days, due to this we are losing

the alert data in the solution. Please suggest the way to change the

unaggreagated monitoring data to be set for 30 days.

4.It is very difficult for us to generate the report in BPM as we need

to go to each and every monitoring object and export the alerts into

file. Please let us know if there is any possibility to generate the

reports like CSA for BPM also.

Dear Akash,

Regarding the problem that your Solution is getting deactivated

automatically without any manual intervention, we definitely need to

analyse on your system. We should do this within the customer message you just have opened up and which is in status 'Customer Action'.

Please also find my answers to all other questions below:

Answer:

BPMon was designed to work like that. The relevant time zone is the one

which is assigned to the user linked to the local RFC connection

BPM_LOCAL_client, i.e. in the user master data (tr. SU01), the user

SM_BPMO or CSMREG (from the local RFC connection) must be assigned the

time zone of the system (parameter TRX_TIMZON). If the field is empty,

the system uses the CET time zone).

3.Monitoring data is kept only for 3 days, due to this we are losing the

alert data in the solution. Please suggest the way to change the

unaggreagated monitoring data to be set for 30 days. Answer:

You can change the retention times of alerts in the BPMon Operation

Session under branch 'Activation' > tab strip 'Monitoring Data Retention

Times'.

to go to each and every monitoring object and export the alerts into

Answer:

There are possiblities to get alerts into reports.

a) In order to do so, you need to implement your BI Integration, so you

could afterwards directly use the functionality of Service Level

Reporting for all BPMon alerts.

b) you could also directly get alerts into Service Desk Message to start

an Incident Management Process.

Those kind of problems can be discussed in the SAP training SM300 or an

SAP Service "Business Process Management" which is available to SAP customers having SAP Support Premium Engagement.
