0 Kudos

Hi,

I am doing SAP 2004S installation with Oracle10.2

Oracle installation completed.

SAP installation completed till step : ABAP post installation (28 out of 43 completed)

Now I am stuck in Check DDIC Password phase.

but my problem is not able to start Sap instance.

Windows server?

Is any process running ( check from task manager) for SAP unser user id SAPServiceSID? like sapstartsrv, disp+work?

If yes, kill all those and then try to start afresh.

But gateway connect may fail due to unavailibility of port also. You can run FPORT analysis for your system ( from OS) and then check which service is running on which port.

0 Kudos

1) I tried killing all services and started again but same situation not able to login and not able to start instance.

msg_server.exe stoppoed

disp+work.exe stopped

2) FPORT is not working my Windows XP it says command not found

also tried fport -p

any other way to find ports

also where do we config sap gateway?

Hi

FPORT is a utility you have to download from Net.

Check the link below..

By the way why are we trying workprocess to connect first(i.e. dev_w0) we should make sure that Message server is running fine(i.e. dev_rfc).

As said earlier I am not able to start message server.

T:3636 ======> Connect to SAP gateway failed

Connect_PM TPNAME=IGS.ANK, GWHOST=INLD50057853A, GWSERV=3301

in services file I can see entry

sapgw00 3300/tcp

sapgw01 3301/tcp

Could you please let me know how to make this message server work then it makes sense to check workprocess issue.

hi,

I'm not in the mood to read the complete thread, too long, sorry.

But, I wonder if all advise given has been as this one.

The error is that the password for the user is wrong.

If, as consequence of that, the user is locked (not shown here) unlocking the user will not solve the problem. the password still is WRONGGGGGGGGG. An the user will be locked again, and so on and so forth

to the OP, The output of "R3trans -x" is not interesting (if there are errors) what is important is the "trans.log" file created by the mentioned statement.

please, post that here if the error is NOT ORA01017 and post it formatted (use code Markup)

if the password still is wrong, then change it to the default one and then (when installation is finished and you can start SAP) change it with BR* tools to something that is not the default

Former Member

Hello ,,

Please change the password for "SAPSR3" user to "sap".

This is default password which the installer expects during installation.

The current issue is that :the installer tries to login with user :ops$ "connect /@<sid> " ., to get the current password of SAPSR3 user , but this fails .

As a fallback the installer then tries with default password "sap".

Hence use the brtools to set password for SAPSR3 to "sap" and then try r3trans -d.

More details: SAP Note:400241

Hi,

The simple way to resolve password problem is.

Run the script from SQL> delete from <SCHEMA_ID>.usr02 where mandt= '000' and bname= 'SAP*';

Set the parameter

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0 in instance Profile

Restart the instance & log in by user sap* & password = pass or PASS

I dont think so its problem with DDIC pass...SAP instance needs in startup status and for this I need to resolve gateway issue.

I mentioned DDIC phase but its a problem with gateway.

Could you please again have a look or if you are very sure than I can try to change DDIC pass but will this help?

Thanks,

Hi,

As surendra already said ...reset DDIC password either through SQL(changing USR02 table) or login with SAP*/06071992 and change the password of DDIC user(The instance will be started). After changing DDIC password ..login with DDIC id and also change the initial password.

Now try to continue the installation and enter the new password of DDIC when asked. I also got the same error and got rectified doing the same.

Ok I tried....but unfrotunately I am not able to find table USR02 itself...as I said installation is not completed.

SQL> SELECT * FROM USR02;

SELECT * FROM USR02

*

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

Any other option to resolve gateway issue? or setting DDIC password is only solution?

I am not able to login to ABAP system as not yet completed installation.

Hi,

Please try the below sql

SELECT * FROM <schema_id>.USR02;

Then reset the password of DDIC. always call table USR02 along with Schema_id i.e <schema_id>.USR02

Thanks and Regards

If you are connected through sys then

use

SQL> SELECT * FROM sapsr3.USR02;

If I right click on instance and say start it says "already started"

but my instance is in yellow colour and MSG_Server.exe + disp+work.exe are down

and during right click->logon it says below erros

Hi

Your statement is wrong and you already changed to records mistakenly.If you did not commit the statement then please rollback it.

As surendra already said the statement should be update SAPSR3.usr02 set passcode='' where bname='DDIC' and mandt=000;

But i prefer login with SAP*/06071992 into SAP Instance and change the password of DDIC user since the SAP Instance is already Up and running.(Recomended).

yes I rolledback those wrong commands...

now I executed this command

SQL> UPDATE SAPSR3.USR02 SET PASSCODE='welcome' where BNAME='DDIC' and MANDT=000;

UPDATE SAPSR3.USR02 SET PASSCODE='welcome' where BNAME='DDIC' and MANDT=000

*

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-01465: invalid hex number

what value should I enter for passcode?

current value is somewhat like this...

SQL> SELECT PASSCODE FROM SAPSR3.USR02 WHERE BNAME='DDIC'

2 ;

PASSCODE

Hi,

The password will be stored in hexadecimal format and cannot be entered maually.

So please use the second option for changing the password of DDIC.

The instance is up and running...so why dont you login with SAP* and change the password of DDIC and then login with DDIC and change the initial password of DDIC. Now continue the installation
