Define new region in a country

Dear all,

I want to make an export sale to Azerbaizan.

But while creating the customer master, I found that no Region exists within that country.

I know I can define that in OVK2. But since I am doing this for the first time, I just want to know is it perfectly all right to define region in OVK2. What other things I have to keep in mind? Is there any SAP Note for this.

IF the region field in customer master is mandatory then you remove it or else you can define new regions in

SPro>>>>>>SAP NetWeaver>>>>>General Settings>>>>>Set Countries>>>>>Insert Regions

The IMG path to create region is SAP NetWeaver --> General Settings --> Set Countries --> Insert Regions. But I feel since yours is an export customer, there is no need to maintain region. You can leave it blank also.
