On Visual Administrator-SLD data supplier, tab run time->http settings OR CIM client generation settings.
On the above 2 settings, I think they should both point to our central SLD -- We use central SLD in our shop.
However I find out one portal system the settings are
tab run time->http settings , local SLD is used
tab run time-> CIM client generation settings: the central SLD is used.
Is this right? What should be when a central SLD is enforced?
Please help. Thanks!

Hi Ashley
Ideally when we configure Central SLD , we choose the data suppliers as well as CIM setting to reflect the same.
CIM setting ensure that system data ,in case if third party as well ,is recieved and interpreted by the central SLD.
Suggest you to use same settings for CIM settings ,as for the Data suppliers, i.e. Central SLD.
Regards
Ajay
Local SLD :The data suppliers are client-side components residing in each SAP system that are able to report actual system information of the relevant systems to the SLD server To fulfill the purpose of the SLD, you have to setup data suppliers for all SAP systems (this includes ABAP and Java) in the system landscape. The activation of Java Data Supplier is executed by default during installation.
Central SLD The Java system that provides the SLD functionality reports itself as an SAP system using its Java Data Supplier. In order to declare the SAP system as the SLD server for the entire system landscape. Thank you,
