Hello,

The link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3f/e892411663ad5fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm contains the steps for planning SAP SLM, security roles, lauching pad for SLM and the business scenarios associated to it.

It does not contain the steps to install SAP SLC and SAP SLM.

Can anyone please provide the checklist to

1-Install SAP SLM (Software Lifecycle Manager)

2- Install SAP SLC (Software Logistics Controller)

3- Integrating SAP SLM & SAP SLC with SAP SLD (System Landscape Directory).

Thanks for the update. I have read pages 2 and 3.

I is mentioned as follows.

SAP Solution Manager (component ST 400) SPS 15 to SPS 17, the maintenance optimizer supports

the automatic download of support packages and enhancement packages with the Software Lifecycle

Manager (SLM, component LIFECYCLE MGMT TOOLS 7.00). Before starting the automatic

download, you have to perform prerequisite configurations for the managing systems and the

managed systems.

Question 1- Based on above marked in bold, Does this mean SLM means LIFECYCLE MGMT TOOLS 7.00 Plug-in installed through SAINT??

There are two ways to install the SLM and other required software logistics tools, such as, for example

the SLD.

1. We recommend installing the SLM and the SLD together with the maintenance optimizer, on the

managing SAP Solution Manager system (see figure 3), so you only have to configure one

managing system.

Question 2: Based on above marked in bold, How do I install SLM and SLD together?

Install (or update to) the latest support package of the Software Lifecycle Manager (SLM), on

the managing system.

I know how to try http://localhost:50000/slm & http://localhost:50000/sld.

I have never asked, how to try a URL. It is simple, every SAP consultant knows it and does not need advice on how to try a URL.

My initial question was how should I install SAP SLM. I am going through help.sap.com and have got answers to most of my queries in help.sap.com.
