We have migrated MDM from maxdb/linux to orac/windows landscape with new version sp6(before sp5),

The workflow,was working before,

Now i am testing in new environment, workflow which includes, start, process, validation, approval, assignment, syndication, stop as flow,

Workflow is through error in approval stage,"Failed to find approval result for user",

What do you think would be problem

Any clue would be helpful,

Hi Amole,

Is the WF reaching the Approver step in the WF?

What exactly the Approver can view on receiving the WF task?

I can think of 2 possibilities:

- Firstly the previous step has encountered some problem as a result the task is not received correctly by the Approver step

- The Approver step is not coorectly configured.

Try login in as the WF owner and try monitoring and performing the entire flow once to check if the WF is correctly moving from one step to the next.

Also check the WF design in Visio for all steps.

Thanks & regards

Hi Amol,

It seems the error should be

1. related to User Assigned toApproval step in workflow.

2. Validation is getting failed and no record is coming to approve step.

Or please explain more about scenario like how many records are coming to approve step after validations etc.

HI Amol,

Please have a look into the following;

1. Look into the Workflow Reports in the Admin Section(Admin > Reports).

2. Make sure the Users in the Workflow Step(Approval) are available in the new environment. make sure you see the User in the Admin > Users .

3. If you are using LDAP make sure all users/Roles(for your approval) are available.

4. You can also try restarting the Servers and see if this fixes the issue.

Thanks,

SA

Hi Amol

how did you migrate the repositories? using schema transport or a2a files.

try to create a new workflow with same steps and execute.

Let us know if the same error is coming

Hi amole

You can trace the workflow in SWIA. select the workitem->goto Log->click technical settings--->in detailed area select Step History. There you can find the narrow the exact error. You can find whether it is because of agent assignmemt or Rule or BADI. Check this and emplain the error what u see in that history.

Hi Hemalatha

Thanks for your respomse,

I think you are talking about workflow tracing in SAP R/3,

But I am trying to find the WF trace in SAP MDM and not SAP R/3,

Thanks

AMOL.
