Prerequisites for MDMGX and MDM_CLNT_EXTR in 4.6c

Hi SDNers,

I need to have access to MDMGX and MDM_CLNT_EXTR in 4.6c .

Can anyone please suggest what all installations needs to be done.

Also exactly which SAP notes should be installed.

I am using the version MDM 7.1.02.59.

Hi Priti,

Check SAP Note 964991

There is no differenece what version you are using because i got this reference from the Installation files of MDM 7.1 only

The SAP Note 964991 is for Generic Extractor. I need for Local Extractor (MDM_CNT_EXTR) too for 4.6c.

Please suggest for it.

It contains the PDF which explains the entire thing about MDM_CLNT_EXTR.

The generic extractor consists of the following components:

1. Release-independent core (package MDM_GX_CORE_RI)

As of Basis Release 6.20, the core is executable and contains the Customizing functions with all relevant objects.

2. Release-independent core (package MDM_GX_CORE_RD)

The MDM_GENERIC_EXTRACTOR extraction program and the used service class are contained in this package. There are two versions: one version for Release 6.20 and one version for Release 6.40 and higher.

The core components are delivered as standard with the following Support Packages:

PI_BASIS 2005.1_620 Support Package 10

PI_BASIS 2005.1_640 Support Package 10

PI_BASIS 2005.1_700 Support Package 10

PI_BASIS 2006.1_620 Support Package 0

PI_BASIS 2006.1_640 Support Package 0

PI_BASIS 2006.1_700 Support Package 0

PI_BASIS 2006.1_710 Support Package 0

3. ERP and R/3-specific functions (package MDM_GX_ERP)

This package contains special functions, that are required to extract certain R/3 and ERP Customizing data. This data (for example, control class data) cannot be processed generically and is extracted using special function modules (see section "Function Modules for Exceptional Cases" in the documentation).

The MDM_GX_ERP package is delivered for R/3 and ERP releases as of 4.70.

It is delivered by default for:

PI 2004.1_470 Support Package 14

PI 2004.1_500 Support Package 14

SAP_APPL 600 Support Package 06

5. Special version for R/3 4.6C

This special version is a version of the MDM_GX_CORE_RI, MDM_GX_CORE_RD and MDM_GX_ERP packages that is adjusted for R/3 4.6C. The 4.6C version has some restrictions (for example, STRINGs are not used in Customizing tables).

It is delivered with PI 2004.1_46C Support Package 14.
