Installed ECC 6.0 / EP 7.0 on one system. SLD was not installed.
On another system PI 7.1 was installed (In this case, the SLD WAS installed - SLD 7.1)
When going into the Visual Administrator, the following values were set under the HTTP Settings
Host: test
Port: 59000 (the system number for the PI 7.1 is 90)
User: SLD_CL_<SID>
Password : ********
The same was entered for the CIM Client Generation Settings
When hitting the CIMClient Test button, got the following error:
Failed to generate and test CIMOMClient object
What is the problem? Is it legal for EP 7.0 to use a 7.1 SLD?
BTW, the original user was SLDDSUSER but it did not exist on the PI 7.1 system. The only
thing that was there was SLD_CL<SID>
Any help, hints or advice to solve the problem is *greatly* appreciated.
TIA

Hi,
In CIMClient , it should be SLDDSUSER.
If it is not SLDDSUSER, then create another user and copy of it having same authorizations. Then it should work.
Thanks
Sunny

HI and thanks for responding.
I am attempting to connect to the SLD 7.1.
When going to the box that holds SLD 7.1, it did not have SLDDSUSER as a user in the system. The SLD 7.1 system did not have SLDDSUSER in it but something like SLD_CL_<SID>.
There was something else - like SLD_CL_<SID>
When doing a SLDCHECK on the PI 7.1 box (that uses SLD 7.1), it says that the user is something like
SLD_CL_<SID>
How can one get around this?
Main question: is it actually POSSIBLE to have a system that is based on 7.0 to use a SLD that is in 7.1??
If so, how???
If now, as of now, a SLD is not a part of the EP 7.0 box. It would be good to add an SLD (7.0 of course) to the EP7.0 box. It took a loooong time to install everything with the EP 7.0 and I really would hate to start again Is there a way to do this (add a SLD) without installing the whole SAP system?
TIA

To generate a CIM client, you have to:
1. Generate an instance of the class ClientFactory (also possible for HTTPS)
2. Generate an instance of the class CIMOMClient
You have to specify the connection data when creating an instance of CIMOMClient. On the
server side, a servlet u2013 the CIM Object Manager u2013 edits the requests of the clients. The URL
of the CIM Object Manager is as follows: http://<HOST>:<PORT>/sld/cimom; you must
specify the host and the port individually. /sld is the preset name where the SLD server is
installed as J2EE components on the application server.

Ravi
