In addition to the steps...
Hi ,
To create data source for planning area please follow these steps
1)goto /sapapo/msdp_admin -- > relevant planning area -->extras --> generate data source -- >save the data source.
2) Run transaction RSA6. Drop down the hierarchies and find the data source created.
3) You can double click and select the keyfigures that are to be extracted.
4) You also can perform an extraction test by clicking `Data Source extract test` button.
5) Run transaction RSA1. source system >Righ click on APO Client> Data view overview--> Find the Data source created.
6) right click and Replicate data source.
Note:
1. Create seperate TP request for data source and subsequent objects (Infopack, Communication Structure, Transfer rules)
2. First transport Data source.
3. Replicate data source in the Import system. (As mentioned in step 5)
4. Transport subsequent objects.
Hope this helps. Thanks for your points

Hi,
Addition to above points, Please check data source before replicate in to APO BW.
Here you need to enter planning version & othre characteristcs value & execute the transaction, so you will get the list. There you can check whether data has extracted correctly or not...
Secon thing before extraction you need to remove the check for ABAP box..
One more thing, if you are creating data source for SNP planning area then you need to select appropriate aggregate in to Data source say 9amalo, 9alore,9amalore etc..which consider respective key figures & characteristics.
