HI experts,

I want to do searches inside the attachment files from the documents that I got in DMS (TX. CV04N), but I don´t know how do that. I have already installed TREX in another server and I have made all the post installation activities. Can you help me? I have already been in TX. SES_ADMIN and I made an index for Business Object DRAW (Documents).

I have already seen transaction SKPR07 but I donu2019t know the relation that it has with this situation. Can you give me some tips or steps that I need to make this work?

Note: at this moment I can make free searches in document fields on transaction CV04N using F4 Help,

Thank You

Hi Esteban,

first of all please see the documentation information under http://help.sap.com under

SAP library

-> SAP R/3 Enterprise Application Components

-> Cross-Application Components

-> Document Management

-> Search Functions

-> Full Text Search for Original Application Files

Since you have maintained the necessary mime-types in the customizing of your system please do the following actions for activating the fulltext search in CV04N:

Settings required for full text search in DMS

1) Transaction: SRMO

Install TREX search engine, and create RFC destination to connect to

TREX.

2) Transaction: SKPR06

Check the flag to Document Area "DMS" to utilize this document area for

document search.

3) Transaction: SE38

Run the report program "RSTIRIDX_REINDEX" to create Index.

Also, run the report program "RSTIRIDX" to create Index as well.

4) SPRO IMG customizing; (Create MIME Types)

Cross-Application Components > Document Management System > General

Data > Settings for Storage Systems > Create MIME types for full

text search, Enter MIME type such as "application/msword",

"application/pdf".

5) Then, test retrieval document search using

Transaction: SKPR07.

Enter Document Class "DMS_PCD1", Language "EN", Document Class "DMS",

and try "TEST search".

Best regards,

Christoph
