Hi experts,

when i am performing transaction SPAM , I am getting following warning. What is it? and what i am supposed to do for it?

Dear All,

I have some problem with the maintenance certificate when i go to SPAM. The error same like first post. The problem start when we format our server due to hdd inconsistency. We cannot save any data from previous installation. Now after install new SAP to new hdd and i have the error msg like above. After checking, the System Number and Hardware Number are different from previous installation and current installation but with same SID and Installation Number. I try to use the previous maintenance certificate but failed. May i know how to solve this issue? did i need to generate another maintenance certificate?

Hi,

Yes. after installing the SAP system freshly over the previous installation, the Hardware key will change as the operatin system is installed again and hence the harware key changes. Old license will not work as hardware key is different. You have to apply for the new license and maintenance certificate license again with changed Hardware key.

Hence apply for new license in service market place.

Hi,

From netweaver 7.0 or heigher versions SAP has introduced Maintanance certificate concept for the more security.

this is another type of license and it needs renewel for every three months.

Hi,

Now to install some pataches from SPAM/SAINT, you need to install maintenance certificate in your system via slicense.

you can request this certificate from SMP. It is like permanent license but have limited validity.
