Interesting issue with permission inheritance

Former Member

Hi,

I have a folder F1 and a subfolder within F1 called SF1.

F1 has permissions P1 and P2.

SF1 has permissions P1 and P3.

I have reset the child permissions for F1 and hence SF1 now has permissions P1 and P2.

However, i need to get back to the orginial permission levels for SF2 and ensure that any new subfolder within F1 should not inherit the permissions of F1.

To do this, i have deleted all the permissions of Folder F1 and SF2 and added the permissions individually.

I did not press the Reset Child permissions button this time.

However, the new folder SF2 still inherits permissions from SF1. Is there a way of ensuring that SF2 does not inherit permissions from its parent folder?

Or any new folders created within F1 should not inherit F1's permissions.

Regards,

Vibhu

Hello Vibhu,

Check if this link about Permission Examples helps you (also try the link, Permission inheritance Model in the second line)
