ECC installation and jlaunch

Former Member

Hello all,

I did an installation sometime ago with Solution Manger and came upwith a problem. Basically, during the installation, it says that jlaunch does not exist.

I have the same problem now for the installation of an ECC 6.0 system but the difference is that

-> when typing startsap, the system comes up (no errors)

-> when typing which jlaunch, I get: /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/jlaunch

But, the installation fails with the error:

Unable to access application /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS30/jlaunch No such file or directory

So, the installation is trying to find this in a directory where it does not exist.

Whats going on?

Any help, hints or advice is greatly appreciated ...

TIA

No longer an issue.

I would recommend, you follow the same step as earlier thread done. Stop sap system, restart and install Java Add in and see if that resolves problem.

Thanks,

Hi,

You can use the SAPINST for uninstalling, Navigate to the Product version like SAP ERP SR3 or SAP Netweaver then

go to additional software life cycle then you can find the option to uninstall , during that select only the java profile and java stack.

Vamshi.

Thanks for the hints. I will have to remember that for furture use.

What happened was the following:

1. The pop-up occured saying that the it could not run jlaunch

2. I then started the server with "startsap"

3. I then hit the "Retry" button on the pop-up.

This worked and it is runnign again.
