Hom. System Copy missing screen DB specific tools in SR3 Wizard

Hi everybody

We want to perform a Homogeneous System Copy on a Dual Stack installation. When we start the sapinst we select

SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3 --> Additional Software Life-Cycle Tasks --> System Copy --> Oracle Target

System --> Central System. After entering the saprofile directory, the next screen which should appear is the System Copy Method where I can choose " Use DB specific tools" . But the screen does not appear. Because of that I'm not able to create a export of the JAVA. The export runs only 4 seconds.

I tried the sapinst on a simillar system. There the screen for the Database specific Tools do appear.

Does anybody have an idea why we don't get the screen to select.

Hi guys,

I found the failure!

Solution is to satart sapinst with SAPINST_USE_HOSTNANME=<virtual hostname>

this is because the was using a virtual hostname.

We have the same problem with the DB specific tools screen not showing. We put SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME in the profile and in the environment variables on the windows server, but this did not work. Does anyone have any other ideas?
