We are using GRC 5.3 and would like to deactivate the password in ECC when provisioning the user. Is there anyway to do that in GRC 5.3 SP8? Right now, we have to send an email to security after the user is provisioned so they can do this step manually.
Thanks,
Peggy
Peggy,
As of now, there is no way to achieve this. This will be a custom development or enhancement request. Please check with SAP.

Unfortunately, it is a manual process. Once a new user is provisioned, an "approved" email goes out from the last stage to all approvers stating that the user has been successfully provisioned. The security team then goes out to all of the backend systems and manually deactivates the password. It's not too bad since most of our requests are for changes or terminations and this process only needs to be done for "new" users. Plus, all new users come over as locked until they go through training so that buys us some time.
Hope this helps,
Peggy

Yes, we only want our users to log in through the portal, therefore we deactivate their password in the backend systems.

Hi Peggy,
I'm curious do you want to deactivate the password because the users will be logging in through the Portal and you don't want them to know their ECC password? We are facing an issue where GRC sends out the Portal password along with ECC We only want them to know the portal password so we disabled closing notifications in CUP.
