once after installation of Ecc 6.0 you have to import the profiles of all active servers .This can be done using the tcode RZ10 and from the menu tab you can get the profiles.Once it is done your default values for profiles will be available.

If you would like to compare your current parameter values to the system default parameter values then execute transaction RSPFPAR. You will see two separate columns for "User-Defined" and "System Default" values.

Hi Nilesh,

There is no standard profiles values,

It basically depends on the usuage and the platform you are using.

for example there are rdisp/ which is dispather parameter like now of work process etc.

and icm/* which is releated to your icm parameters.

Like wise.. There are lot of notes available which you can search and start implementing.

Any way for your reference check below link might be a use full for you.

Dear Nilesh,

sometimes it happens that default parameters are changed in between kernel patches. I do not think that there is a complete reference of these parameters for all databases, operating systems and kernel patch levels available. Such things are available if you would ask an experienced SAP consultant who worked with SAP for many, many years.

Thanks,

Hannes

RZ10 is for profile param maintenance. You did not specify your system type, OS and database. Are talking about only memory parameters?

You can check OSS note 88416 and lots of other notes given as link in that note for memory parameter recommendation.

But mostly memory parameter tuning is a repeatative method, its very diffucult to set all the parameters at one go and expect the best performance from the system. Depending on your system usage, you have to tune all the memory parameters one by one.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Anindya,

I need to check the parameter available in RZ10( Instance,Default,Start profiles).I need to check the values available for these parameters are in accordance with SAP standard parameter.OS that we are using is AIX5.3 & Database is Oracle 10.2.Please let me know what is exact difference between these( Instance,Default,Start profiles) & what are the parameters that we are taking care of.

Moved from "SAP on Linux" to the "SAP on UNIX" forum, as OS is AIX5.3

Hi

When the instances are started, SAP Service reads which processes (message server, dispatcher) are to be started from the instance-specific start profile.

The specification of the configuration of the instances is stored in the default profile and in the instance profile. These profiles are read by the dispatcher, which starts the work processes and creates the instance-specific configuration.

So, you will get only one default profile for your whole system which contains global information like

your SID, HOSTNAME, database hostname etc.

The best way to see profile paramaeters' default value is to see the Documentation ( if documentation exists) of any parameter from tcode RZ11.

Thanks and Regards

Anindya
