It looks like some file is missing,...have you check file oradim exits in E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin

Check below links:

Hope it helps

Hi!

Many thanks for your answer.

The file oradim is placed under E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin.

Unfortunately the path to the executable within Windows service is showing on orant\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID> .

I have reinstalled Oracle software and many times restarted SAPINST, but the same error appears.

Question:

What can I do to solve this problem?

This happens if you don't read the installation guides (no offense).

Oracle must be installed using sapserver.cmd in the SAP subdirectory of the database DVD, do not use setup.exe or runinstaller.exe.

I can just recommend: read the installation guides

- install the database software using sapserver.cmd

- install the latest patchset (the delivered 10.2.0.1 is not supported)

- install the latest interim-/minipatch

and then starts sapinst.

Hi Markus,

first of all: the installation guide was read and the oracle software was started right!!!

The oracle software (10.2.0.2) was installed with sapserver.cmd commando from Oracle DVD.

Because the software is already installed, the process looks as follows:

- the software will be deinstalled

- the software will be installed again.

BUT, the OracleService<SID> Service can be detected, when I run SAPINST (step create database instance).

The reason here is oradim -new -<SID> commando that creates oracle instance and failes to create and to start

OracleService<SID> Service.

The path to the executable within OracleService<SID> Service shows to orant\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID> ,

whatever this can be.

I have changed changed this path to the right one E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID> , but the problem still exist.

The questions sitll are:

1) Which with software the service OracleService<SID> will be installed?

2) Why this service shows to orant\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID instead of E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID>?

2) Are there options only to deinstall oracle software completelly in order to start from scratch?

I need further help and investigation please.

Thank you!

Hello Jgen,

We are also having the same problem. Have you found an answer?

(For us, Instead of F:\oracle\RD1\102\bin\ORACLE.EXE the service is created as orant\bin\ORACLE.EXE RS1)

I can correct the definition, and the service starts fine, but of course starting the Sapinst over again it fails with "service already exists". I also noticed oracle job scheduler service is created incorectly similarly (using orant)

I suppose editing the installation script is an option.

John
