Import from MS Project Client

Hello,

I have a requirement to implement the Import from MS Project Client.

The customizing is now implemented.

But the problem is if I import a MS Project Client file I have in cProjects a project definition which is ok. But then I have a "TASKHIERARCHY" as a phase and under this some tasks.

In MS Project I have a phase and some tasks under this phase.

How can i have a solution without this "TASKHIERARCHY"?

Yes I have

I read the text about Phases (1.3.3) but I didn't unterstand how to match the fields and what fields I need.

Hi Denis,

There are two things here:

1. You should map the phase type with one of the fields in your MSProject file

2. In every element you want to import as a phase you should fill in the phase type field with the ID of the phase type.

Hope this helps!

Hi

For mapping, you need to create Extra column say Text 21 in MSP where you should specify SAP Phase type key say 0001

now in SPRO mapping you need to specify that Text 21 belongs to phase type

similarly for task type create extra column where you wud enter relevent tsk type and select the same column in Mapping for task type.

Let me know if it helps !!!

I tested it an it works.

But can I set the status phase type initial with a mapping??

Normally if you set the field "Text20" initial you get a task and not a phase. Is there a way to get a phase with an initial phase type?

Hi

No if you want to set the Activity in MSP as PHAsE you need to set text 20 it as Phase type and input the value there

If the problem is solved, close the thread as solved
