list cube usage

I want to know the usage of listcube .for what exactly we go for list cube.

Hi Doodle,

I am bit confused abt seeing the contents from infocube and from listcube.i think its a different ways to view data or any additional information is there .....

1> in infocube->manage>select and execute .here we can see the list of data.

(or)

2> in Tcode:listcube by giving the option DB we can see the same screen as the selection field screen from infocube ....

what else we can see from listcube other than contents of data targets ?

what will differ from infocube shown data and in LISTCUBE..

just make it clear

Hi,

here we can select either cube/ODS.

here we have three options:

display sid : sid also displayed

db aggregation: db aggregation option checked

use technical names: displays tech names.

Its easiest way to go see the contents..

How ya doin guys ?

using LISTCUBE you can only manage the DATA TARGETS. it is not for generating reports or formatting it like BEX.

Instead of going into MANAGE into each and every Data Target, we can see from here itself, by providing the DataTarget name. So we can compare LISTCUBE with DATATARGET -> MANAGE -> (selcet DATA TARGET) & CONTENT.

what else we required in usage of listcube.if want to see the report instead of having the query defination ,i can i view a report here ?

LISTCUBE is a transaction to view data target contents in BW.What do u mean by using LISTCUBE?

LISTCUBE is not for viewing BEx reports or their query definitions.

For reports and their definitions,log into BEx or use tcode 'rrmx' after logging onto BW system.
