HI all,

Can anyone please let me know once the planning layout is created would the planned costs for the project be flowing into the planning layout or how does it work.

Hi,

Once you create a planning layout, you need assign the same to planner profile and plan the values in CJR2.

No costs will be flown in to playing layout, it is the place where you are going to plan the costs.

Hi,

Basically CJ40 is used for Structured planning where you can plan directly on the WBS element which does not carry any cost element. Primary cost planning where we can do on cost element based planing and Activity based planning where you can maintaint the Combination of Cost center & activity type Hrs (pre-requisites for this is you need to maintain the costs in KP26 for that year and period for cost center and Activity type combination).

Comming to Planning Layout, you can define the costs for the WBS element on Cost Element basis or cost center Activity type.

Advantage of having Planning layout is, you can restrict the users on doing only cost element based planning by removing the authorization of CJ40 T-code. which is not possible as such in CJ40.
