Hi all,

I m working on SOLMAN 7.0 with windows on ORACLE.

When i upload the profiles from the server, RZ10 --> Utilities --> Import profiles from active servers, some problem with the default profile, system is unable to read the default profile.

Please find the error below when I clicked on Import profile of active server.

"Default Profile
SYS\<SID>\Profile\DEFAULT.PF could not be read. the import is therefore is not be possible"

Default profile is saved as DEFAULT.PFL only but I donu2019t know why its taking as DEFAULT.PF but not DEFAULT.PFL.

Any idea for the above problem?

Thanks,

Subbu

Hi,

Check permission on DEFAULT profile file and also on profile directory. And also if there is any backup DEFAULT profile then move it to some other directory.

Then give it a try.

Thanks

Sunny

Hi Sunny,

I have checked the permissions and eveything is fine with that... No other file with the name similar to DEFAULT is placed in that directory..

Can you try to open manually in notepad editor DEFAULT.PFL? it should be in \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile directory. Did you keep the copy after installation?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.I have deleted the profiles through RZ10 and imported them again. I got the below message:

The following default profile is imported:

igatesap01_<SID>_01:
igatesap01.igatecorp.com\sapm nt\<SID>ISM\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PF

The following instance profiles are imported:

igatesap01_ISM_01:D:\usr\sap\ISM\SYS\profile\ISM_DV EBMGS01_igatesap01

The following start profiles are imported:

igatesap01_ISM_01:D:\usr\sap\ISM\SYS\profile\START_ DVEBMGS01_igatesap01

And here is the LOG for the import of profiles:

Default profile
igatesap01.igatecorp.com\sapmnt\ISM\SYS\profile\ DEFAULT.PF

Could not be read. The import is therefore not possible.

Default profile
igatesap01.igatecorp.com\sapmnt\ISM\SYS\profile\ DEFAULT.PF

Could not be read. Checking had to be cancelled.

I didnt understand why its reading DEFAULT profile from a different path? Could you pls. tell me how to change the path to read that default profile..

Thanks,

Subbu ...

Did you keep copy of default profile in the same server and same folder with with other profiles?

Looking at the log you pasted..

igatesap01_<SID>_01:
igatesap01.igatecorp.com\sapm nt\<SID>ISM\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PF

why it is "sapm nt" which should be sapmnt? Can you please check share name is correct.

Also have a look at table TPFHT and path there for default profile.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Sorry, its sapmnt only, i have pasted that wrongly...

All my profiles, including DEFAULT is placed in the following path --"D:\usr\sap\ISM\SYS\profile", where sapmnt is "D:\usr\sap"

From the logs i came to know that START and INSTANCE profile are imported from the following path --

"igatesap01_ISM_01:D:\usr\sap\ISM\SYS\profile\"

,

where as efault profile is imported for a different path --"

igatesap01_<SID>_01:\\igatesap01.igatecorp.com\sapmnt\<SID>ISM\SYS\profile\

"..

Any idea how to change the path?

Thanks,

Hi Bose,

Also have a look at table TPFHT and path there for default profile.

..

As default profile is imported i couldnt see any thing regarding Default profile but only info. abt. Instance and Start are available in the table "TPFHT"

Thanks,

Hi Subbu

You can try one trick.

Change the name of your default profile from *DEFAULT.PFL * to DEFAULT.PF then import from RZ10.

Once imported you revert back the name to DEFAULT.PFL .

Please let me know if it helps.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Anindya,

Thanks for the reply..I have tried that but no Luck..

I have changed the file name to DEFAULT.PF and imported, restarted the system i am unable to login as its showin License check error...I have reverted to DEFAULT.PFL

The reason why i m worrying is, JAVA instance is not up and running as JAVA related parameters are not read from DEFAULT profile..

Any idea how to overcome this issue..

Thanks,

Subbu
