Hi Experts
Can you please tell me as a begineer or if you are mentioning any modules like SD, MM in your resume..
then on which topics you need to concentrate or on which areas you should be thorough
What is the importance of linking between various tables for an ABAPer??
Do we need to know all transactions and menu path , and also various technical terms like sales office, sales area, division, distribution channel etc??
I am new to this so kindly give some suggestions so as to proceed in a proper way instead of moving haphazardly and reading /studing everything
Thanks in Advance

Rashmi,
You should know the basic business process cycles of the modules that you are talking about. You should know how a PO is raised, what are the pre-requisites and what are the follow on documents etc.
For an ABAPer, tables are important, as you are going to access them for writing your code. So, if you don't know the tables, you cannot do the coding.
We don't need to know all the transaction, but you should know the most used ones. The technical terms that you are talking about are how the organization is structured. So, if you have worked in that area, and say have generated some reports, you will come to know about it.
Take a look www.sapp-img.com, where you can find info on the modules.

Ravi

Hi Rashmi,
Well you can start off with all modules at one go..
take one module at a time..
start off with MM module.. its an easy module.
For an ABAPer, its essential to know the master tables and how they are related..Depending on this you would be writing your code..
Its also essential to know the BAPI's n fm associated with these modules for effective coding..
If you need help as to whereto statrt, i shall mail you material which shall be of great help..

HI
GOOD
AS PER YOUR REQUREMENT YOU R INTERESTED TO LEARRN SD AND MM AND YOU NEED COME COMPLETE IDEA BAOUT THEM.
FIRST OF ALL IF YOU R GOING FOR ANY KIND OF FUNCTIONAL WAY LIKE SD AND MM AND YOU SHOLD HAVE HARD CORE EXPERIENCE IN THOSE FIELDS, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO WORK IN A ORGANIZATION.
YES IF YOU ARE A ABAPER THAN YOU MUST HAVE TO PUT THE MODULE NAME YOU R EXPERTISE WITH ,IT DOES MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE HARD CORE EXPERIENCE IN THOSE FUNCTIONAL AREAS.
WHEN A ABAPER WORK WITH A OBJECT THAN HE OR SHE MUST HAVE UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENT PROPERLY WHICH BESICALLY DEVELOP WITH THE EXPERIENCE YOU GAIN AS A ABAPER.
