Support packs issue

Dear SAP experts,

when I am trying to apply support packs during the application the sytem got hanged.Now can i go ahead and restart the system .The support packs application is still running before the system got hanged ? How to proceed now?

Please let me know thet which phase then import is.

Please check the below Points before starting the Support pack.

Stms Should be configured.

Kernel Upgrade.

Spam and Saint update if required.

RDDIMPDP running fine.If not then runprogram RDDNEWPP in Se38.

Hi,

if you restart the system while applying support packs definately you will face the issue with runtime errors.

that to syntax_error, i have faced the same issue.

if you try to login in to the system it will throws the run time error, i believe sap has mentioned work around for this problem.

try to search the related notes and mean time contact the SAP support for the best out put.

If the system is hanging (not responding) theres no much to do... restart the system and try to resume the support pack.

When i try to login i am short dumps.Whatever t code i type i get a short dump.

Please stop then Sapsystem and Database and Perform kernel upgrade if not done when you stared applying support pack.

Which Patch you are applying.

What is you system release.

HI ,

We have a BI system with SAP NETWEAVER BI 7.0 Server both abap and JAVA stacks.We are upgrading basis from level 12 to 13 and 14. When i trying to search some notes in one note they mentioned the correction but in order to implement that we need to transport at the OS level.Can anybody help us in doing the OS level transport.

Hi,

Please check that the cofile and the data file of that transport are present in \usr\sap\trans\cofiles and \usr\sap\trans\data directories .

tp import <Request No> SID client=xxx

Did you use the system while applying the SPs? I think you should contact SAP for applying at OS level.

Importing support packs at OS level is not recommended.
