Network assignment

Dear PS Experts

Please i need to know what is difference beteen displaying a list of all networks assigned to the WBS element and displaying a list of all networks assigned to the project definition.

What is the advantages and disadvantages for each method.

Project Definition

WBS Element

Network

The above shown structure is standard structure for project system. Using this structure you can map any knid of projects ( Big or small). In this the WBS element will act as controlling object in which you can plan and monitor costs, revenues,payments,budgets and dates with respect to the WBS element.

Adv:

1. You can use this structure for any form of project

2. You can break the work using WBS

3. AUC is created in WBS level only

No disadvantages

Network

The above shown structure is uesd for only where they dont want to break the work based on WBS.

Here the Network will directly linked to the project definition. So the project definition will act as the controlling object.

Adv;

1.You can use for simple projects

DisADv:

1. All advantage of the earlier model

Hi,

list of all networks assigned to the WBS element

WBSE having a assignment separate network header.

Ex:

1 WBSE : network header-1

2 WBSE : network header-2

We can assign a network header at any level WBSE in the project

networks assigned to the project definition.

Network header will be assigned to project defination or first lebvel WBSE. with one network header total project can be created and activites assigned to WBSE's.

Ex:

1 project defination or First level WBSE: network header-1.

These are the two options provide in the satandard.It can be configured in the system as per the business scneriao for the customer.
