SAP Web AS shuts down after 20-25 minutes

Hi All,

I am using SAP Web AS 7.0 on HP-UX Itanium box(64-bit) and able to boot up server without any major glitch. Also, the applications(portal or custom applications) hosted on the server could be accessed easily. But after, say 20-25 minutes gap from server boot up time, the server shuts down and i am neither able to use Visual Admin tool nor any application. Also then if i execute 'cdpro' command and then 'jcmon pf=<sap id> i could not fetch any of the process detail running on the server.

Can someone please suggest me the log/trace file name along with its location that i should analyze to find the root cause of the issue.

Please let me know if some other details are required if in case the above data is not sufficient.

I have gone thru' the defaulttrace.trc logs and it seems like there is licensing issue. Can someone please confirm?

The installed license for software product "" is NOT valid.

Yeap.. thats why your engine is restarting.... When the license is expired/not valid your system will only run for 30 min at a time... this is to give you time to apply the license via visual admin

Try to set variable CPIC_MAX_CONV=200.

setenv CPIC_MAX_CONV 2000

or export CPIC_MAX_CONV=2000

David, Please look in defaulttrace file in J2EE directory. Errors in defaulttrace log would indicate for any problem with java system.

Sounds like a licensing issue... if the license is invalid the portal will shutdown automatically after 30 min until the license is updated.

Otherwise check the defaultrace for errors
