Estimation Method in progress Analysis

Dear All,

I want to use Estimation method for calculating BCWP But when i am going to enter the POC after entering the measurement method and version and after clicking the Estd values tab for network activities only plan is open for date entry while Actual is greyed out and for WBSE both fields are greyed out.

Please advice as i have to calculate BCWS on the basis of cost prop method and BCWP on the basis of Estimate

Hi muzamil,

It is because u have maintaine Estimate method for plan POC calculation for activities.

Actual is greyed out

It is because sys status of activities are in REL, U can start enter Actual POC only when the sys status of activities are in PCNF or CNF..so first partially confirm the activity and then check Actual POC field, it will be open for entry.

for WBSE both fields are greyed out

U want to calculate BCWS for WBSE based on Cost prop...so if u have maintained Cost prop as default measurement method for PLan POC for WBSE..it will always be in greyed..

Again, sys status for WBSE should be either PCNF or CNF inorder to enter Actual POC...just enter actual start date for WBSE and then check, ACtual POC field will be open for entry.

Jus keep in mind, Estimate method is based on sheduling, so make sure scheduling is done and Basic dates are maintained in WBSE.

Dear Mohamed Rafi,

i tried to get the planned POC calculated automatically for WBS elements via Cost Prop. method, but the fields are grayed with no filched values however, i have done detailed monthly cost element cost planning!!

Following setting have been made for progress version,

Plan version : 0

EV Basis : Cost Plan (active project, overall values)

POC weighting : 1 Cost plan (active project, total value)

planning type : Basic date

Early/Late : Ealiest possible

Reference:-

Actual mehod : ticked

Ref Plan method : ticket
